Platform Popularity

So you have a big list of URL’s and don’t know what platforms or CMS they are from?

ScrapeBox features a Platform Popularity Analyzer which enables you to scan through URL lists multi-threaded identifying which CMS the page was built with. It works by analyzing the pages HTML source code, and searches for unique footprints which enables it to identify the platforms.

It automatically uses the Comment Poster platform definition files, which means it can alanyze all the platforms it can post links to which include:

  • 4image
  • Advanced Guestbook
  • AkoBook
  • Ard Guestbook
  • Aska BBS
  • ASP Blog
  • Basti Guestbook
  • BeepWorld
  • Bella Guestbook
  • Blogengine
  • Burning Book
  • Chinese Blog
  • cms2day
  • CoderWorld
  • Coppermine
  • DedeIms
  • DRB Guestbook
  • e107 Forum
  • EasyBook Reloaded
  • GA Guestbook
  • Gallery2 Image
  • Icybook Guestbook
  • Jambook Guestbook
  • Jax Guestbook
  • Joomla Comment
  • K2 Blog
  • Pixelpost
  • Plogger
  • Serendipity Blog
  • Sitebuilder Guestbook
  • TextCube Guestbook
  • WordPress
  • WPTrackback

All definition files are editable using Notepad, this means you are free to add new platforms or footprints and any new platforms supported by the Comment Poster are automatically enabled in the platform Analyzer.

The Platform Analyzer displays metrics such as how many URL’s in your list, how many URL’s from your list were detected, a counter showing how many URL’s were found for each platform and what % each platform accounts for. There’s two different export options available, you can export a Popularity Count which is great for things like providing a report on what platforms backlinks were obtained from.

You can also export the results and split the URL’s in to individual Platform Lists where the URL’s belonging to each platform are saved to individual text files.

This option is available from the “More List Tools” button next to the Search Engine Harvester. Also note, ScrapeBox includes the more powerful Page Scanner Addon which can scan URL’s to detect platforms as well as anything such as text, advertising codes, meta tags etc and includes variable and regex support.
