We strongly recommend not to use a gmail or yahoo accounts.
Both provider will move many of the registration emails into the bulk email/spam folder, so you wont be able to activate the forum accounts.
Additionally, gmail will not allow to retrieve all your emails via pop.
The preferred email accounts to use would be your own domain email, over which you have full control.
